Facial recognition systems
Facial recognition systems are biometric technologies that analyze and compare the features of a human face to identify or verify a person’s identity. They operate by scanning the face in 2D or 3D format and analyzing key points — such as the distance between the eyes, the shape of the nose or the jawline. The collected data is then compared with information stored in an existing database.
These technologies are widely used in smartphones for device unlocking, in security systems (monitoring, access control), by law enforcement, and in social media platforms, for example, for automatic photo tagging.
